Women's Shoe Size Conversion
If your shoe size falls between sizes, we suggest getting the larger size of the two. (For example, if with some brands size 8 fits you well, and in other brands size 8.5 fits well, we suggest ordering size 8.5).
All OrthoFeet shoes are made with extra depth and come with removable orthotic insoles that are ¼" thick, allowing you to use your custom-made orthotics.
You may also use the following chart for converting your foot length measurements to your shoe size. Please do it while standing and wearing the socks or stockings you will wear with the new shoes.

I tested these boots out on a backpacking trip where I covered nearly 40 miles with quite a bit of elevation change and started out with a 40lb pack. In the past, boots have always been so painful, especially after a lot of downhill, and I usually can't wait to take them off. These shoes are so comfortable I found myself questioning why I even bothered switching into camp shoes at the end of the day. I was really happy with the wide option, and rounded up my shoe size and used the provided inserts to fill the extra space in the shoe. I love that this company provides the inserts and the arch boosters so that you can customize your fit. I found the insoles to be very comfortable. I was mostly on granite (which granted is pretty grippy) and these boots felt like they gave me secure footing.
If you have skinny ankles (I don't) it might be hard to cinch these tight enough. They were just a bit loose at the ankles for me but still gave enough support that they helped keep me from rolling my ankle on a couple of missteps.
For me, these required no breaking in and were comfortable from day 1.
I have terrible small fiber neuropathy in my feet and no shoes really help. After putting in an extra memory foam insert into these Dakota boots I can honestly say they are more comfortable than my Hoka tennis shoes with the same memory foam insert. I am going to buy more Orthofeet shoes to see if they are as comfortable!
