I have a right foot drop that’s permanent, a result of a herniated lumbar disk some years back. My feet are large, basically 15’s now, and wide. The right is significantly wider than the left, and the brace’s footpad seals that deal. I have spent a small fortune on shoes since getting the brace, and have been able to pretty much stop using a cane for support. Of late I have bought several pair of Broadway, needing a Wide pair for the left foot and an XXWide pair for the right one. This has worked well and each pair is $99 so not cheap to accomplish this but it is worth it! The buckle/Velcro strap fastener gives the ability to open the shoe wide to put on the right one. The nice thing about these shoes is that they give really good support, although the soles can get squeaky on tile or similar floors. They also look pretty good, not obviously orthopedic. I first got the leather ones, which were foine although I got to where I needed a shoehorn to get the AFO brace foot in. Later I have gotten a pair of the stretch ones (actually 2 pair, as mentioned) where I don’t need the shoehorn so far and they are much lighter and a good deal more comfortable. Outside of the foot drop I am quite healthy and it’s nice to be able to get around more easily. If you have one of these podiatric braces made the shoes they will try to sell you are nowhere near as nice looking as these.

My feet are not friends with most shoes. But, these shoes were very comfortable from the start. They are also stylist and easy to put off and on.
My favorite shoe ever!
I have bought this type of shoe several times. I use this type of shoe because I have several foot problems in the last ten years. I use them for working in the yard. The problem I have had is the sole coming loose from the upper part. I see the lack of glue where there should be glue.
