How To Tell If You Have Wide Feet?

Signs you may have wide feet

If the shoe size you are wearing is too narrow you will see and feel some telltale signs.

Firstly, your shoes will feel too tight. Particularly, your toes and forefoot will feel cramped in your shoes, and the small toe will rub against the inside of the toe box of the shoe or feel pinched against the side.

When the shoe is too narrow, the toes can also be jammed together, causing pain as well as corns and calluses between the toes, where they jam together. Actually, this can occur between any of the lesser toes and might eventually lead to bone spurs on the sides of the toes.

Another sign that the shoe is too narrow for your feet is when the outer foot protrudes over the outsole of the shoe when standing, or bulges out of the toe box. When you stand while wearing the shoe, the foot should sit inside the confines of the footwear smoothly, with no bulge showing in the toe box.

Should I go up half a shoe size if I have wide feet?

If the shoe is too narrow, opt for the next size up, regardless of its numerical value.

Many people need a wide or even extra wide shoe. If the shoe you are wearing does not indicate its width size, assume it is a Medium width. If it feels too tight, switch to a Wide size. If the Wide size still feels constricting, consider trying an Extra Wide, or if necessary, an Extra Extra Wide.

Orthofeet offers shoes in all widths, ranging from Medium to Extra Extra Wide. in addition, Orthofeet shoes provide extra depth and feature a round, roomy toe box, offering more room and comfort.
